As the ninth Volume of our series of information brochures this business guide is published with the kind support of the Embassy of Kuwait in Berlin and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
For the German industry, Kuwait is one of the most important cooperation partners. Kuwait, on the other hand, is the first Arab state to invest in the German economy as early as 1961, and is still active in the name of German companies. The bilateral trading volume amounted to EUR 1,427.1 mn in 2016. There is a lively exchange between the two states in the form of regularly held forums, trade fairs and delegation trips.

The political framework and the economic development trends are presented and explained in the first two chapters. On this basis, the major economic sectors are hereinafter described in detail. Another chapter explains the current state of economic relations between Germany and the State of Kuwait. Finally, the business guide elucidates in detail the possibilities of opening new markets and gives further information about the legal framework as well as the trade and customs regulations of Kuwait.
