Due to its well-diversified economy, supported by an exceptional investment pipeline, the Kingdom is an attractive place for businesses and investors alike. Over the past century, Bahrain has pioneered in a range of fields, from being one of the first countries in the region to discover oil, first to implement formal education and first to diversify its economy and become the financial hub in the area. As an investment destination and a base from which to access the fast-growing Gulf market, Bahrain is seen as one of the most business-friendly countries in the Middle East. According to the International Monetary Fund, it is predicted that the Bahraini economy is set to recover post the Covid-19 pandemic and grow by 2.99% by 2021. Germany has been an important trading partner for Bahrain since the beginning of the bilateral relations in 1972, with trade volumes reaching EUR 473.9 million in 2019.
